GBM RECORDS: CORPORATE & LEGAL AFFAIRS UPDATE: May 2nd, 2026
At GBM Records, our primary mission has always been to foster ground-breaking musical talent and build a safe, thriving community for our artists and fans. As the music industry rapidly evolves, so do the challenges that threaten the integrity of human artistry, intellectual property and the wellbeing of our roster.
To maintain transparency with our supporters and the broader industry, the GBM Records Legal & Corporate Affairs team is issuing this public update (As part of our regular updates) regarding seven active legal initiatives we are currently pursuing. We are taking a firm, uncompromising stance to protect our family.
Coalition Lawsuit Against Unauthorized AI Voice Cloning: GBM Records is proud to announce that we have joined a major industry coalition—standing alongside entities such as Sony Music, the Recording Academy (Grammys) and other leading rights holders in a comprehensive legal challenge against multiple Artificial Intelligence music creation companies and platforms. These platforms have been illegally scraping our copyrighted master recordings to train AI models, subsequently allowing users to generate deepfake tracks using the stolen, unauthorized voices of our and other artists. We believe AI should be a tool for creators, not a weapon to replace them. We are actively litigating to establish strict legal precedents against the theft of vocal likeness and copyright infringement.
Decisive Action Against Trolling, Doxxing and Harassment: The mental health and safety of our artists and staff are non-negotiable. Recently, we have seen a coordinated rise in malicious online trolling, doxxing and harassment targeting members of the GBM roster. We have a zero-tolerance policy for this behavior. Our legal team is currently issuing formal Cease and Desist orders to identified individuals and coordinating with cyber-crime authorities and social media platforms to unmask anonymous accounts, mandate takedowns and pursue civil damages where applicable.
Pursuit of Unreleased Music Leaks: Over the past quarter, GBM Records has been the victim of targeted cyber intrusions resulting in the unauthorized leak of unreleased studio sessions. We have initiated "John Doe" subpoenas to compel internet service providers and file-hosting sites to hand over the IP addresses of the individuals responsible for distributing this stolen property. We will prosecute leakers to the fullest extent of the law to protect our artists' release strategies.
Shutting Down Counterfeit Merchandise Rings: We are actively pursuing legal action against a network of unauthorized third-party manufacturers and e-commerce storefronts selling bootleg GBM Records and artist-specific merchandise. These counterfeiters not only profit off our artists' trademarks but also deliver substandard products to our fans. We have successfully secured federal injunctions to freeze the assets of several of these illicit operations and shut down their web domains.
Reclaiming Unpaid Streaming Royalties: GBM Records is currently in the final stages of a comprehensive audit and subsequent legal demand against a prominent international Digital Service Provider (DSP). Our audit revealed significant discrepancies resulting in the underreporting of streams and unpaid royalties owed to our artists. We are taking aggressive legal steps to ensure our talent is fairly and accurately compensated for every single play.
Trademark Infringement by Web3/Crypto Entities: We have recently filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against an unauthorized Web3 project that unlawfully used the GBM Records logo and the names of several of our artists to promote an unregistered cryptocurrency token and NFT drop. We want to make it unequivocally clear to our fans: GBM Records has no affiliation with this project, and we will ruthlessly defend our brand against those attempting to defraud the public using our name.
We do not take legal action lightly, but we will not hesitate to deploy our full resources when the rights, safety and livelihoods of our artists are threatened. To fans: thank you for your continued support and for consuming our music through official channels. To the industry: GBM Records remains committed to fighting for a fairer, safer, and more authentic musical landscape.
